New Members




Formed in 1976. For female persons over the age of 18 when joining:

A-not-for-profit organisation:
Members pay $25 Joining fee, once only payment, $20 annual fee plus $10 weekly subs
(New members also make a once-only payment of $20 for costume hire).
Main expenses:

  • Rent for practice premises
  • Payment to Musical Director
  • Insurance

When the choir is engaged to sing, we request a donation to help with our costs.
If we find we have more money than will cover our costs, we give some away to good causes.

Repertoire:

Includes songs from musicals, traditional ballads, pop
favourites from other countries and a few hymns. 2 and 3 part
Current active repertoire approx 30 songs.

Singing venues:
Retirement villages, social and service clubs, nursing homes.
Some community events; occasional church service.
Each concert approx 1 hour
Average 2 engagements per month, could be any day of the week
At least once a year, we hold a concert at a hired venue, charging admission.

Joining Requirements:

Contact choir Secretary
Attend one choir practice as an observer
Complete and submit membership application
Audition - A voice test given by the Musical Director

  • Ability to read music desirable but not essential
  • Sight-reading ability desirable but not essential

Uniform:

  • Black Trousers, Black filled in shoes and black stockings
  • Black top with long sleeves of your own choice
  • White top with long sleeves of your own choice
  • Blue sparkly top with black cami for special concerts (choir)
  • Black sequined top with black cami for special concerts (choir)
  • Red or Pink scarf (choir)
